Common Wire Profile Options
Rectangular:
Flat wire profiles with two longer sides and two shorter sides (commonly used for magnet wire in motors and transformers). Dies are made to the exact width and thickness required, with polished radii at the corners to ensure smooth enamel flow around edges.
Square:
Equal-sided conductors (square cross-section wires) used in certain coils and winding applications. These dies ensure uniform coating on all four sides of the square wire, often used when round wires can’t maximize fill factor in a given space.
Trapezoidal:
Wedge or trapezoid shapes, sometimes used in specialty windings (such as tapered coil layers or certain transformer windings). The die’s opening has the trapezoidal profile to coat such wires evenly. This can also include profiles like hexagonal or other polygonal shapes on request.
